The Sidey Fund Inc, is a non-profit organization that aims to provide underprivileged athletes opportunities to achieve life’s ambitions. 

The Sidey Fund, Inc. will provide scholarship support to those athletes in need, job opportunities for recent graduates, and raise awareness about the challenges athletes suffer post playing career.

The Sidey Fund was started by family and close friends to Matt Sidebottom after his sudden passing on October 22, 2021. After graduating from Assumption, Matt went on to coach for more than six years, spending that time between Assumption and Bentley.  

One observation he made while recruiting was how many great athletes were never given an opportunity to play at the collegiate level because it was financially prohibitive for their families.  Sidey became passionate about working to help these students and always wished he could make more of a difference. 

The foundation is currently sustained by private donations, sponsored events, an annual golf tournament and  an annual Assumption Football event “The Sidey Game” hosted at Polar Park this year on October 9, 2022 @ 12pm.
